For my Fifth Post im doing my based on the creator of Ketchup (Henry J. Heinz). I will be giving you info about him, where he was born and so on.


Now, Henry was one of eight children born in the Heinz family. His family emigrated to the States from Germany and settled in the "South Side" of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the age of 6 young Henry helped out his mother around the house, and outside in the garden by going door to door selling vegetables. At the age of nine Henry invented his very first sauce called "Horseradish" sauce. At the age of ten his parents gave him 3/4 acer behind their house, and got premoted to using the wheelbarrow to do deliever his vegetables easier. Henry kept on rasing up in everything from a bigger garden (3 3.4 acres) and even his own horse and cart to deliever his vegetables to grocery stores. At seventeen years old now Henry was making an income of 2, 400$, very good for back than.


He than attended Business College where he graduateded starting employment at his father Brick company, eventually becoming a partner at the firm. All of this while still growing his garden and continuing busniess in that department.


Than using all the money he made from his fathers business and from his delievering of Vegetables he decided to invest it in his own company. Henry and his brother and cousin. Their frist product was Ketchup, and took off quick.


Henry J. Heinz dies on May 14 1919, in his home state of Pennsylvania at the age of 74. He died with 20 food processing plants. Heinz was the grandfather of H. J. Heinz II and great-grandfather of U.S. Senator H. John Heinz III of Pennsylvania in the United States.
